England won the 5th Test, Leveled the Ashes series 2-2.

Ashes 2019 was packed with thrill and joy for all the cricket fans, It was a treat to watch where every moment was filled with passion and exciting cricket all the way. This year’s Ashes Series was not a one-sided contest instead it was a constantly shifting pendulum between England and Australia.

The first match of the series was a clear dominance from Australia where Australia won with a comfortable win by 251 runs. English was looking forward to the 2nd Test match but the weather had other Ideas, It disrupted the match the game was played but there was never going to be a result and it went down as a draw putting England into further problems as they had to win the next three to lift the Ashes.

THE THIRD TEST OF ASHES SERIES 2019 AUS vs ENG (The Best Match of Test Cricket)

The third test was one of the most thrilling cricket matches we have seen, It will go down as one of the most fascinating encounters between the two arch-rivals. It was no short of a Hollywood movie where every character is designed for a particular situation and comes in just in time to save the day. It was that kind of a thriller! Australian Team went into bat first and thanks to some an amazing debut performance from J Archer who got 6 Wickets, restricted Aussies to only 179 runs. M Labuschagne and D Warner were the only batsmen to have scored anything significant for Aussies ( 51 and 79 runs). The bigger surprise came when England batters came in to bat as England was bowled out on just 67 runs only. It was an anti-climax to the first innings and also in the previous test have they totally dominated the Aussies. J Hazlewood raptured the England batting line up almost ensuring a victory in the third test.

ENGLAND VS IRELAND TEST MATCH ENGLAND WINS

The Thrill of the Third Test Match of Ashes

In response to the mere 67 runs, total Australia was comfortably ahead of the English and made a rather decent 246 runs in their second innings. Aussies got the huge lead of 358 and it was looking to be too much for the English team to get in the fourth innings. they had to make and break a record total to win the third test but B Stokes had other ideas. Fate did give some close chances to the Aussie team where they could not run out the nonstriker when N Lyon was bowling in the last overs and had a chance to knock off the English bails but he fumbled, Perhaps fumbled an Ashes win there. Aussies also didn’t have a DRS Review left with them when they needed it the most, It was Ben Stokes who narrowly escaped an LBW and was given not out. As the saying goes fortune favors the brave, same thing happened here as Ben Stokes played a heroic inning of 135 runs playing with the tail-enders winning it for England in a rather emphatic way by just one wicket.

BEN STOKES WON IT FOR ENGLAND

The Last two Test Matches where everything was on Stake.

After a heavenly win against the Aussies in the third test, England were suddenly the favorites to win the 2019 Ashes series and the momentum was with England. It was a big win for England in the third test and also a very painful loss for the Aussies. T Paine and N Lyon came under a lot of fire from the critics and the fans who were rather disappointed by their team’s effort in the fourth innings. It was looking all gloomy for the English but there was only one hurdle for them and it was S Smith.

Return of the magical STEVE SMITH

The most consistent performer in the Ashes 2019 Steve Smith was not a part of the third test and that made a significant difference in the Australian team’s batting lineup. Smith was hit hard on the head by the Debutant Jofra Archer and had to leave the field in the second test. He was rested in the third test due to concussion. It was always going to be a difficult return for him in the fourth test coming out of an injury and he was expecting a lot of bouncers. but he proved that he is a class act and came in like a storm for England. He was the biggest hurdle in England’s dream to win the Ashes. and he did not disappoint and did exactly what he had done in the previous matches, He scored a DOUBLE CENTURY! a marvelous inning of 211 runs put the Australian team in the driving seat and from then on England was always playing the catch-up game. It was too difficult for them to win it from there. Their only hope was to get him out early in the second innings and restrict Aussies to a small total, not to be though as Smith went on to make another good 82 in just 92 balls ensuring his team’s dominance in the series. Australia won the fourth test by the biggest margin of the series, winning it by 185 runs.

Steve Smith won the battle in Ashes fourth test

The Fifth Test Match

England came into the Ashes as favorites as they had the momentum was a game of massive importance for England as they had to win it to level the series. English were put in to bat and they had to make sure that they do not make the same mistakes with the bat which they made in the 4th test. They also had to learn to get Steve Smith out early.

England was put in to bat first and R Burns started off well J Buttler and Joe Root helped England reach a total of 294 in the first innings. Australia started their first innings rather poorly with David Warner getting out under double figures yet again. He had a forgettable Ashes and could only manage 5 runs in the 2nd innings. Aussie wickets were tumbling but Steve Smith held his ground and stretched the Australian innings to a fair total of 225 runs. Smith scored the most 80 runs from the Australian team. Jofra Archer returning back into the wickets column with his 6 wickets. Sam Curran got 3 wickets to his name.

England now needed to put a good total to get that target good enough to defend and they just did exactly that mounting a respectable 329 runs total in the third inning. J Denly was the star performer and just missed out on a well deserved century milestone, he got out to Peter Siddle and was caught on 94 runs by steve smith.

The Fouth Innings of the 5th and last Test

One thing England had to do to win this test match was to get early wickets and to get Steve Smith out early. Stuart Broad raptured through the Aussie batting lineup with his 4 wickets. J Leach also chipped in with broad and got 4 wickets as well. the biggest blow to Aussies was with Broad took Smith on 23 runs and was then too much to ask from the lower middle order.

M Wade scored a century that went in vain as the Australian team could only manage to score 263 runs and fell short of 135 runs.

England won the fifth match by 135 runs and leveled the series by 2-2.

They think this young pace star will create problems for the Australian batting lineup and he did the same thing. Steven Smith is in great form, and playing some of the great knocks of his life.

There were so many questions revolving around in the cricketing field that is Jofra Archer handle the unstoppable Steven Smith? Is Steven Smith handle the pace and lethal bowling of Jofra archer? Is smith able to survive against archer’s lethal bowling or not? All these questions build hype between both dugouts and especially between these 2 players. This is how the rivalry starts between these 2 players.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE 2ND ASHES TEST MATCH?

In the 2nd test match of the ashes series, Steven Smith again stood firmly on the crease and create problems for the English bowlers. English captain introduced Jofra Archer in the attack and the archer did the same what everyone expected from him. He bowled at lethal pace and line and started to create problems for the inform smith. And then suddenly a pacey shot ball hits the elbow of the smith but smith stood confidently and continue his innings. But the archer’s intentions were very clear. He was on a mission to send back smith into the pavilion. Another short ball at 92 mph hits smith on his neck region under his helmet. Smith fell on the ground and after that, he forced to retired hurt. After a fall of wicket or 2, he came back again to continue his batting and scored 92 runs.

In the 2nd innings of the same test match, Marnus Labuschagne played as the concussion substitute of the smith as the smith is not well enough to play.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE 3RD TEST MATCH?

In the 3rd test match, Smith was ruled out because of his injury and Marnus Labuschagne was played on his position. England outclassed Australians in the 3rd ashes test match and won it with 1 wicket and make it the ashes series alive.

4TH ASHES TEST MATCH AND THE RIVALRY CONTINUES:

As the smith is now fully fit, Australian think tank adds smith again in the playing 11 in the very important 4th test match of the ashes series. Now everyone in Manchester is excited to watch how this rivalry continues and who takes point over the other. Is smith played Jofra archer without any fear? Is Jofra archer able to take benefit of that incident happened in the 2nd test match? How the rivalry continues and who is going to win it, Smith or Archer?

BEN STOKES WON IT FOR ENGLAND

BenStokes Super Heroics Leveled the Ashes 1-1

Ashes 3rd Test was nothing short of an epic Thriller, It all started with some splendid bowling from Jofra archer who took 6 wickets for just 45 runs in the first innings and raptured through the Aussie lineup in a quick time, Then came the big shocker, to everyone’s surprise in reply to a mere 179 total English batting crumbled to a disappointing 67 runs total only. J Hazlewood and P Cummins took 5 and 3 wickets each to dismantle England innings in just 27.5 overs.

Australia came out as favorites in the second innings and played a decent innings scoring 246 and England had to get to a mammoth total of 359. This was never going to easy and some had already given up on England considering the first innings disaster.

England’s top-order disappointed yet again in the fourth innings with R Burns and J Roy getting out on single-digit scores. Then came the skipper J Root who played rock-solid innings of 77 runs on 205 balls. It was slow, It was steady but massively effective! J Denly also played well before getting out to J Hazlewood on 50 runs.

AND THEN CAME THE HERO, BEN STOKES.

B Stokes came out confident and started off very well, It was the make or break time for the host team and Stokes responded well, Wickets kept on falling at the other end but Stokes stood firm and kept on scoring at a consistent rate. England was in the driving seat but at the end of the match everyone could sense that there was something to happen and England started losing wickets, 4 wickets fell adding just 17 runs into the total and C Woakes, J Buttler, J Archer, S Broad went to the dressing room leaving too many for Stokes to cover with an 11th man ( J Leach ) on the other end.

Match and the Ashes dream was looking to fade away for the host team when stokes brought his A-game and played on of his career-best getting the last 65 runs in a rather heroic manner. It was just a matter of one wicket for the Aussies and Stokes was able to deny that one wicket to Australian team scoring a massive 135 runs on 219 balls.

This was unexpected, This was heroic, This was unreal. Stokes conquered the 3rd test and single-handedly won it for England in the fourth innings.
His “Test” innings included 11 4’s and lusty 8 Sixes.

The Ashes Series 2019 Live cricket Steaming

Crucial to Watch 3rd Test of Ashes Series.

HEADING TOWARD 3rd ASHES TEST:

It was a thrilling second test at the home of cricket. At the end of the 2nd ashes test, Australia was really stretched to draw the 2nd test and they somehow managed to maintain their lead of 1-0 in 5 test match ashes series. The first 2 test matches of Ashes series had loads of aggression, and entertainment for the spectators all around the world. Test series between these two nations in England or Australia goes down deep into history and has some of the most memorable moments in the game. Without any doubt, these two nations keep the test format alive. Let’s take a look at the 3rd test match of ashes series which will be played at Headingley, Leeds from 22nd August till 26th August 2019.

STEVE SMITH OUT OF LEEDS TEST MATCH:

Steve Smith proved himself as a rock wall against any opponent again and again which help him to grab 2nd position in ICC Test Batsmen Rankings after surpassing Kane Williamson of New Zealand Cricket Team.

Unfortunately, Steve Smith is out of the third test match which will be played at Headingley. This will surely affect the Australian cricket team against a world-class bowling line. The Australian think tank is now thinking about the most probable substitute for the smith, who actually able to perform smith’s role at his position in his absence.

Also Read: NO SMITH IN LEEDS TEST

FIRST ASHES TEST MATCH HERO:

Australia very comfortably won the first ashes test by 251 runs, which is quite a big margin. Steve Smith stays strong on the crease in both the innings of the first test match and score centuries in both innings of the match.

England’s fast bowlers were struggling with their line and length in the first test especially James Anderson who is not 100% fit at that time but team management decided to include James Anderson in the playing squad. He is the front line bowler for the England team but unfortunately, he didn’t produce a magical performance in the first test and after that he also out of the 2nd test because of calf muscle injury.

JOFRA ARCHER’S DREAM DEBUT:

When Anderson was declared unfit for the second ashes test, England’s think tank was thinking for the replacement of James Anderson. It seems impossible for England’s think tank because the sort of experience James Anderson has was unable to replace.

Jofra Archer is the final replacement of Anderson for the 2nd ashes test. He is not as much experienced as Anderson is, but England’s think tank was completely agreed to introduce him in the test format in all-important Ashes series as a surprise element for the Australian batting line.

With very short but impressing ODI career, Jofra Archer was all set to make his test debut. Before the start of the 2nd test, everyone in the cricket circle started talking about Archer’s debut and most of the cricketing experts were making it Archer Smith battle between bat and ball.

ARCHER SMITH BATTLE BETWEEN BAT AND BALL:

Archer proved their think tank absolutely right with his performance in the 2nd test with the ball. In Australian innings, Steve smith once again stood firmly on the crease and produce problems for the English bowlers. Then archer was introduced in the attack and he did exactly right with his line and length.

He bowled quick and short length which caused problems for the smith. A short quick ball of Archer hits on the left elbow of the Steve smith but he managed to continue his innings confidently till another short ball hits on smith’s neck region under his helmet and he fell down.

Smith was forced retired hurt but after a wicket fall, he again came for bat for his team and score brilliant 92.

Unfortunately, in the 2nd innings, he was unable to bat so, therefore, first-ever concussion replacement was approved and Marnus Labuschagne was batted in the replacement of the Smith.

Archer and Smith fought well for their team and an interesting test match at lords ended up with a draw.

REPLACEMENT FOR THE STEVE SMITH:

After Steve Smith, it’s hard for the Australian think tank to find a perfect replacement for the Steve Smith, who played his role under the tough situation against a world-class bowling lineup and they still thinking onto it.

Marnus Labuschagne got a chance in 2nd test match in replacement of Steve Smith, when he was unable to play due to his injury. But Marnus Labuschagne played a brilliant inning of 59 under a pressure situation. This performance surely helps Australian think tanks because Marnus Labuschagne is also a good option as a replacement for Steve smith but still decision has to be made by the Australian think tank.

ENGLAND TEAM HAPPY WITH THEIR SQUAD:

Think tanks of the England cricket team feel okay and comfortable with the squad of the 2nd ashes test. England fought so hard on the final day of the 2nd Ashes test and took few quick Australian wickets but unfortunately, an interesting Lord’s test match ended up with no result.

After the inclusion of Jofra Archer in the playing squad, England cricket team feels a little comfortable and they are happy with the squad. They will play in Leeds without any changes.

OUR PREDICTION FOR THE 3RD TEST:

As we all know that cricket is by chance game. The team who played better cricket and manage pressure well will surely win the match. But if we look at both sides, England looks slightly ahead of Australia in the winning chances. Australia is a good and balanced side but a replacement of an inform batsman will surely affect the side. So England is slightly ahead of Australia. But cricket is always by chance and the matchday will decide where it will go.

Shoaib Akhtar Lashes out at Jofra ARcher

Shoaib Lashes out at Jofra Archer calling him “Not Nice”

Jofra Archer the promising young fast bowler of England is playing his debut match against the Australian Test side in Lord’s. Archer is inducted into the team after Anderson’s exclusion due to injury. Archer is the quickest fast bowler in the England camp and he certainly made use of his pace in the crucial Test match.

An Express quick bouncer struck Steve Smith at the speed of 146 kph when Smith was standing firm on 80 holding the Aussie innings together on 4th day of the 2nd Ashes Test. But Shoaib Akhtar is not happy with Archer. Here is why.

Also Read: IS JOFRA ARCHER THE ANSWER TO ENGLAND’S ASHES PROBLEM?

After Archer bowled that lethal delivery with struck Steve Smith on the neck and he was instantly down on the pitch laying in pain, Archer did not inquire of his pain/condition and went back straight back up to his bowling mark. Smith was not able to continue due to the excruciating pain and left the field in the cloud of BOO from the English crowd. Shoaib Akhtar the fastest bowler of Cricket history did not like this cold behaviour from the young fast bowler and here is what he said on his twitter handle about the whole incident and what he has to say about it.

Shoaib Akhtar Schooled Archer

Shoaib said that he always used to inquire about the batsmen whenever he had hit someone and he was always the first one to reach out to offer help. Shoaib termed Archer’s behaviour as “NOT NICE” and certainly is not happy about how Archer played the whole incident.

Australia-wins-the-test-match-against-england Ashes

England Lost First Test of the Ashes Series

England went into this first test of Ashes series 2019 as favorites. Many around the cricket world declared them clear favorites due to the momentum they were carrying from the ICC Cricket World Cup and also the dominance they showed over Australia in the knockout games. However, the English team proved everyone wrong with losing the first test match easily on the 5th day (second session).

WHERE DID ENGLAND GO WRONG?

Test Cricket is a different world altogether. There is a reason why it is called the best of the formats and the real test of skill, temperament, and cricket as a whole. England after brilliant first innings with the bowl and also with the bat looked amazing in patches but sudden collapse after good cricket is now getting a routine thing with England cricket team. Even in the World Cup after amazing few performances, they almost gave it away losing to some of the weakest sides in the tournament and then had to work out their way hard in order to qualify for the semis.

In the 4-day test match against Ireland, things went sideways for the English team when they were all bowled out for a mere 85 runs total. After that shocker, England had to work super hard to restrict Ireland to win that test. This first test match of the Ashes series was no exception. They had it covered for the most part but lost way in the critical times. England was forced to play for the draw on the fourth and fifth day of the test match courtesy some fine Aussie recovery and some extraordinary batting from Steve Smith and Wade. The target of 398 runs was never a reality once the centurions Wade and Smith took Australia to 487 runs.

STAR OF AUSTRALIAN TRIBE

England team was simply outplayed by the class of Steve Smith who never gives up and single-handedly scored the bulk of the runs when others around him were failing. The Australian top order failed in both innings but Smith stood like a rock and played two magical innings of 144 and 142 runs when led Australia to win it easily in the end by a margin of over 250 runs (251).

Cummins rolls his fingers across it as he fires it into the surface. The ball grips, holds up, and Woakes doesn't know what to do with it. He ends up poking the bat at the ball, and chips it into the hands of second slip.Australia have done a thoroughly professional job today, and sealed the victory with ease. A massive win for the visitors, who go 1-0 up in the series. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon combined to run through the England batting line up, with no one in particular contributing massively for the home side. All of this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for one paritcular man, though. Steve Smith with two sensational hundreds set up the game for the Aussies. He was the star performer across the five days. Worrying signs for England, who seem very tired, and there is still four matches left to go!The teams head to Lord's for the second Test, which begins next Wednesday. Steve Smith Eng vs AUS the Ashes

Steve Smith the only wall in front of England to climb.

Steve Smith has been the star of the show for Australia so far in this first encounter of Ashes test. Playing his one of his career-best innings in the first outing he scored an amazing 144 runs which brought back Australia from the realm of chaos. Now he has a new task in hand.

Australian top-order is probably the biggest worry for the team as they have failed twice now and were unable to provide any substantial start to the Aussie innings but puts them in pressure right from the start. Cameron Bancroft and David Warner in managed to add only 10 runs to the total in the first innings and only a combined 15 runs in the second innings putting Australia in the recovery mode right from the start.

Steven Smith on number 4 stood up in the first innings and played right till the end for his 144 runs innings and now in second innings smith faces a similar situation where the openers have failed and Australia had to recover. Thanks to some consistent brilliance from the star batsman Australia has managed to narrow the lead up to 34 runs with 3 wickets down so far.

Steven Smith is holding his ground like a wall in front of English batsman and currently standing firm on his 46 along with Travis Head who is batting on 21. If Australia has to set any substantial target then these two have to go ahead and play at least the first session. Smith is looking in sublime form and stroking the ball with command and ease.

More often than not Smith has done this to England as he has an unbelievable average of 169 against England and an overall Test batting average of 62. He is and has always been a tough wall to climb for the English bowlers. English bowlers have to produce some magic delivery to dismantle to the wall in they are to win this Ashes test. And their best bet is their main strike bowler Stuart Broad who got rid of Smith in the first inning. Let us see if Broad manages to crack pass this firm wall in front of him.

STEVE SMITH STATS:

Steven Smith

Steven Smith

A career that has seen him transform from being a full-time leg-spinner to one of the best batsmen in modern-day cricket, Steve Smith’s story is one for the ages. Making his first-class debut in 2008, he played for New South Wales against Western Australia. Two years later he was given his Baggy Green in a Test match against Pakistan, where he batted at No.8 and took three wickets as the front-line spinner in Australia’s win. Later dropped from the Australian team due to a poor run at the 2010-11 Ashes, Smith turned to domestic cricket to regain form and confidence. After a recall to the Test side in 2013, he displayed extraordinary improvement, starting with his maiden Test ton at the Oval, later followed by centuries at Perth and Sydney during Australia’s 5-0 whitewash in the 2013-14 Ashes. Smith became Australia’s 45th Test captain during the series against India in 2014-15, filling in for an injured Michael Clarke. It turned out to be a landmark series for him as he went onto post tons in all four Tests. Reaching No.1 in the ICC Test batsman rankings for the first time in June 2015, he was also awarded the Sir Garfield...

Now a vital cog in Australia's batting unit, Smith initially made his name as a bowler - He was New South Wales' leading wicket-taker in the 2007-08 KFC T20 competition.

The Ashes Series 2019 Live cricket Steaming

Aussie vs England Ashes Squad Comparison

SQUADS FOR ASHES 2019

As the ashes series is around the corner, both Cricket Australia and The England Cricket Board announced their squads in the past week. Ashes series is scheduled from 1st of August 2019. Cricket Australia announced their 17 men squads for the ashes while England Cricket Board announced their 14 men squad for the first test match of the ashes series 2019.

Australian Squad for Ashes 2019:

Cricket Australia announced their 17 men squad for the away series of ashes 2019. Australia is the defending champion as they won the Ashes series in Australia last year. Tim Paine will lead the Australian side in this ashes series. The team consists of

  • Tim Paine (C)
  • Cameron Bancroft
  • Patrick Cummins
  • Marcus Harris
  • Josh Hazlewood
  • Travis Head
  • Usman Khawaja
  • Marnus Labuschagne
  • Nathan Lyon
  • Mitchell Marsh
  • Michael Neser
  • James Pattinson
  • Peter Siddle
  • Steven Smith
  • Mitchell Starc
  • Matthew Wade
  • David Warner

England’s Squad for 1st test of Ashes series 2019:

England cricket board announced their 14 men squad for the 1st test of the home ashes series 2019. The ECB further said that their few mainstream players are recovering from the injury that’s why they just announced their 14 men squad. Joe Root will lead the England side in this home series of ashes 2019 and they will try their best to regain the ashes trophy. The team consists of:

COMPARISON BETWEEN BOTH SQUADS:

both the teams are very well balanced and experienced test sides of the world, but if we look at both sides and try to analyze them by their performance, stats, facts, and figures. Then this is quite difficult to analyze and compare which one is the better team. Both teams have no comparison because they are the best in their own way. Let’s have a look…

Captains:

England Cricket Team will be led by Joe Root while the Australian Cricket Team will be led by Tim Paine in the Ashes series 2019. If we talk about captains of both teams, Joe root is very much ahead of Tim Paine as Joe Root played 80 test matches for his side in which he scored 6,685 runs with an average of 49.51, while Tim Paine played only 21 test matches in which he scored 984 runs with an average of 35.14.

If we talk about captaincy, Tim Paine leads the Australian side from January 2018 while Joe Root leads the England side from February 2017 and according to these records Joe Root has better experience to lead his side.

Bowlers:

Both England and Australian team heavily rely on their pace attack. England surely has some benefit from their home grounds which will surely help their bowlers too. But Australians are too good and too quick to respond to the conditions and situations and behave accordingly.

England has two veteran fast bowlers in the form of James Anderson and Stuart Broad who will surely lead the pace attack from the front. Jofra Archer call up for the 1st test match as James Anderson is not fully fit and it may the first test match. Chris Woakes also add some strength to the pace attack while Sam Curran, Olly Stone, Ben Stokes further strengthen this pace attack. In the spin department, Moeen Ali is the only proper spinner England have for the first test while Joe Root, Joe Denly did part-time spin bowling in the past.

The Australian pace attack will be led by Mitchell Starc and Peter Siddle for sure. They both are the most experienced fast bowlers in the Australian side. Josh Hazlewood, Patrick Cummins, Cameron Bancroft, James Pattinson, Mitchell Marsh provide further strength to this pace attack. In the spin department, Nathan Lyon is the most senior spin bowler while Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne help Nathan Lyon as a part-time spin bowler.

All-rounders:

In cricket of today’s Era, no matter which format you are playing, you must have at least 1 or 2 all-rounders in your team, who can bat or bowl for the team in the tough time.

England has Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali. They both are talented all-rounders who can perform with the bat and the ball for the team. Ben stokes will surely be an alarming point for Australians because of his brilliant form throughout the world cup.

Australia has Mitchell Marsh and Patrick Cummins. They both work really hard and polish their skills with the ball and the bat. In recent times, they both perform well for Australia with both bat and ball.

Batsmen:

Red ball cricket is always a tough challenge for the batsmen as compared to white-ball cricket. Temperamentally strong, technically sound batsmen are the requirement of the test cricket. Both England and Australia have a brilliant history of great batsmen in the past and in the present too.

England has Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Joe Denly as a senior most batsmen while Rory Burns and others all-rounders can bat too.

Australia has Tim Paine, David Warner, Steven Smith, Matthew Wade, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja who led the batting department is ashes series 2019.

Test Cricket Kits got an Upgrade

It has been long enough since ODI and T20 cricket inducted colorful kits with player names and Numbers on the T-Shirts. However, Test Cricket was still kept to the traditional ways. There is a fresh announcement as ECB has made a move to change that.

England Cricket has just announced that the Players will have their names and numbers on their T-Shirts during the “Ashes” test matches against England. England Cricket also twitted pictures of the key players wearing these fancy new upgraded kits.

There has not been any confirmation for the Australian side if they would also adapt to this change from ECB. This change was already speculated before the ICC World Cup and now it’s confirmed.

Merchandise Sales and Marketing creeping into the Test Cricket

Test cricket has its own blend and it also has many fans who are used to this traditional blend of cricket. There is a divide upon this move from England cricket as some of the people have welcomed the change while others said it should stay the way it is in Test Cricket. Perhaps the merchandise with Player names is more appealing and would sale more. and looks like its possible that we would see some colors and further personalization of the player kits.
